Diana L. Martinez
Diana L. Martinez, founder of Holstrom, Block & Parke, APLC, provides “no-court” divorce and conflict resolution services, including collaborative divorce and divorce mediation services, in San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange counties. She is an active member of the Riverside County Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel, and a board member of Collaborative Divorce Solutions of Orange County
In every divorce case I handle, my goals are to help protect the children, empower my clients to keep control of their situation, and to keep them all out of court. Nothing good happens in court... even if you “win” Relationships are destroyed, families and friends are divided, funds exhausted, and everyone suffers. You know your needs and the needs of your children better than anyone else, especially a judge, who knows only a small fraction of your story, what is “legally relevant”. Your future should be based on more than what the legislature has deemed “legally relevant” for couples and families in general. One size does not fit all. Everyone is unique. You deserve an agreement that meets your unique needs and that comes from those who know your needs and goals best... YOU.

Marvin Chapman, MFT, CFC, Communications Mediator/Coach
Dr. Marvin L. Chapman has been divorce coaching for over 30 years, commencing when he co-founded a nonprofit organization emphasizing responsible fatherhood. He is currently the President of this multiple award-winning organization. Over the years Marv learned that empowering individuals with information about family court and the affects it has on family members significantly reduced the anxiety, frustration, and confusion inherently present when engaged in the family court system.
Educated in Southern California, Dr. Chapman has a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Science in Counseling, and a Doctorate of Psychology, specializing in forensic psychology. Trained as a Collaborative Divorce coach in 2004, he is an active member with several collaborative practice groups in Southern California.
As a court mediator in the early 1980’s, Marv was fortunate to be mentored by some of the innovative pioneers of court mandated mediation. He is a strong advocate for out-of-court options and non-adversarial alternatives, a product of his witnessing first-hand the abusiveness of the adversarial family court system on individuals and families.
In 1986, Marv was appointed to the California Senate Task Force on Family Equity, a task force set up by the California legislature to make recommendations relating to family law. He was appointed to this task force to represent the issues and concerns confronting fathers in the family court system.
Throughout the following decade, Marv spread the word through public speaking, writing articles, serving on the Board of Directors for Modern Dad magazine, and as Board member and Professional Standards Chairperson with the California Association of Legal Document Assistant
In 2001, the Orange County District Attorney, Family Support Division, selected Marv to present “The Fathers Perspective” for their customer service training.
Dr. Chapman’s work with fathers through his nonprofit organization was recognized by receipt of Community Service awards from Disneyland Resort in 2001, 2002, and 2004. They eceived the prestigious Jack B. Lindquist Award in 2004, one of the highest awards given by Disneyland Resort.
Education and training has given Marv the tools, and working with families for over three decades has given him the experience, to effectively guide and assist those going through the family restructuring process. His approach is information, education, communication. He teaches conflict resolutions skills and assists in identifying and defusing hot emotional issues. He helps individuals separate emotional and behavior roadblocks that interfere with making sound decisions. Marv actively seeks viable options, constructive alternatives, and positive solutions for all family members.

[My spouse] and I came to your office with an unusual situation that could have been very volatile. Your professionalism, kindness, and directness helped us understand our situation and what the best path for us was. Thank you for remaining neutral and guiding us through the divorce process. I am forever grateful
Diana Martinez helped us through a difficult time using her mediator skills. She was patient, thorough and non-judgmental. She facilitated a process for us that brought us to a place of consensus and closure. I highly recommend her services.
As a "past client", I also consider her a trusted friend. I have seen her speak at seminars and I believe that she has a passion for her field of collaborative divorce and mediation services. She is patient, thorough and non-judgmental. I highly recommend her services.
Diana was my attorney in our collaborative divorce. While working with her over the past year, I've felt that I was in very competent hands. I appreciate her knowledge, integrity and attention to detail. She truly cares about her clients and works hard to achieve equitable results. Above all, I respect her ethics - a rare virtue in the legal divorce world. I would recommend her without reservation!!!!!
I am a licensed psychotherapist, with certifications in Mediation and with extensive training in Collaborative Divorce processes. I have known Diana L. Martinez professionally for several years. During that time we have worked together on a number of mediation and collaborative divorce cases. We have also served together on the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization so I have gotten to know Diana well in a variety of settings. I have always experienced Diana as an exceptionally competent Collaborative Attorney and Mediator who is respected by her colleagues for her, knowledge, skill, integrity, and attention to detail. I have seen first hand that clients hold her in high regard and feel they are well served by her. Diana is also a compassionate person whose ethics can be trusted without reservation. I frequently recommend Diana to clients, friends and family and will continue to do so with the highest confidence.
It has been my privilege and honor to know Diana L. Martinez for many years and to have worked with her on numerous mediation and collaborative divorce cases. Not only have I found Diana to be a very honest and trustful individual, I also have found her to be an extremely ethical attorney - something not common among attorneys in the adversarial divorce system. Diana has consistently and repeatedly shown nothing but the highest level of professionalism in dealing with her clients, as well as with the other professionals with whom she works. Diana sets a very high standard for herself and others; her character is unreproachable. I would not hesitate to proudly recommend her to family, friends, and acquaintances alike.
Diana L Martinez was my attorney for my collaborative divorce. I could not speak more highly of her. She always had my best interests in mind while at the same time keeping the process completely "collaborative". She is extremely ethical and was always easy to get a hold of and to talk with. She was very understanding and empathetic, putting me at ease and being proactive regarding my concerns. She really had to go above and beyond as the other attorney who had agreed to work collaborative, but did not have the experience or knowledge, therefore it put a lot of the burden of the work on Diana. She was amazing and I am very grateful that I chose her to help me through the process.
